I founded the Hormone Consultancy to deliver the care that I wished I had received.

What happens next

Starting menopause care shouldn't feel daunting or rushed.

My process is structured, supportive, and designed to give you clarity at every stage.

Initial consultation

1

A brief, no-obligation discussion.

We begin with a short, informal conversation to discuss what you're experiencing and what you're looking for.

This is an opportunity for you to understand how I work and decide whether my approach feels right for you.

There is no pressure to proceed.

Information gathering

2

Understanding your health position

If we decide to move forward, I will follow up by email with guidance on relevant blood tests and recommended reading to help you understand hormonal change and treatment options.

This stage allows you to reflect on your symptoms, clarify what support you want, and decide whether we are the right fit to work together.

Comprehensive consultation

3

Your symptoms, in context.

We then meet for an in-depth consultation to explore your symptoms, health background, and priorities in detail.

Together, we will decide on the most appropriate management plan, which may include hormone therapy alongside lifestyle strategies.

GP communication

4

Clear documentation and shared care.

Following the consultation, I will write a detailed clinic letter to your GP outlining our discussion, clinical reasoning, and agreed plan.

Treatment can then be either prescribed privately or prescribed via your GP on the NHS, allowing you to use the HRT prepayment certificate.

This shared-care approach ensures continuity, safety, and clarity for everyone involved.

Treatment initiation & support

5

Settling into what works for you.

Starting hormone therapy often raises questions. During this phase, I support you as treatment is initiated and adjusted, helping you:

  • Understand how and when to take your medication

  • Adjust doses or preparations if needed

  • Manage side effects and expectations

This settling-in period typically takes around three months. During this time, you have access to me by phone, email, or text, so concerns can be addressed promptly and calmly.

At the end of this period, we meet again to formalise a longer-term plan and update your GP.

The fee for this comprehensive initial period is £300.

Ongoing care

6

As much or as little support as you need.

After the initial phase, you may continue to follow up with your GP or see me on an ad hoc basis for in-person reviews (£80 per consultation).

Hormone care evolves. As your circumstances change, we can review treatment, discuss new options, and ensure your plan continues to support your health and quality of life.

Many women choose an annual review.
