About

I trained at Oxford University and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, followed by specialist training in surgery, intensive care and histopathology. I now work as a Consultant Histopathologist at UCLH, with a career shaped by both academic medicine and direct clinical practice.

In 2022, I went through a six-month chemically induced menopause to treat a large fibroid. It was meant to be temporary. Instead, it changed everything. The hormonal crash left me feeling like a different person, and the recovery didn’t go to plan. Despite seeing both my GP and menopause specialists, it became clear that perimenopause, especially after chemical suppression, sits in a medical blind spot.

So I did what most doctors do when the system can’t quite explain what’s happening: I investigated. I changed the way I ate and trained. I tried multiple forms of HRT. And eventually, I completed formal accreditation in menopause care with the British Menopause Society.

What I found was equal parts frustrating and encouraging. There’s still a striking lack of nuance in how women’s midlife hormones are managed. But there is also enormous potential, medically, nutritionally and physically, to reduce symptoms, improve long-term health, and help women feel like themselves again.

My services sit at the intersection of lived experience, clinical training and evidence. My aim is simple: to translate complex hormonal science into clear, practical guidance so women can navigate their 30s, 40s and 50s with confidence, and feel stronger for it.

Sandra G, London

Dr Ruchi Tandon is only person I have met during the 10 years that led to my menopause that made any sense to me. I was sick and tired of opposite medical advice on HRT, and was confused by the fact that different countries have different views on what is safe and what is not. So when I met Ruchi, I came to her with 10 years of doubts and a good dose of cynicism. She patiently listened to all my confusion and took the time to give me a 360 view of my possibilities. We went through each of them together and I felt included in the discussion and decisions. Having had a GP that once told me “pull yourself together  lady” because he had no idea of what menopausal symptoms can feel like, I felt really relieved to have found a doctor that really cares and understand what menopause can feel like. I have since recommend her to all my friends, and I would have no hesitations to recommend her to you too!

Ruchi was recommended to me by a friend and I found very knowledgeable and prepared (and extremely kind and graceful!) as she explained very clearly to me how progesterone and oestrogen work in women in different stages of life. She listened carefully to my concerns and advised me accordingly, I would recommend Ruchi to anyone struggling with perimenopause or menopause symptoms.

Siobhan M, London

My sessions with Ruchi were a big transformation! It started about my symptoms and then built an action plan personal to me which so far feels great!!
